Plot:
A triumphing stomp awoke the Clans. Each Clan--with the speed, shadows, stealtheness, and wet paws--came to watch nothing they had ever seen before. A thick line of brown and black marching cats were stomping down the Thunderpath. Surprisingly, there were no monsters stopping these cats.
"The BloodClan March." Rowanclaw, Sunfur's father, murmured.
Sunfur didn't understand.
"A march?"
"This happens every 240 moons."
Sunfur wondered what the march was for.
Rowanclaw seemed to read his son's mind.
"Each 240 moons, their Clan either increases or decreases in strength"--Sunfur noticed that there would be over 50 cats in the loud march--"And they walk toward new territories."
"Don't they ever think of invading our territories?" Gingerflower's mew sounded behind the two toms. She was with the rest of Sunfur's family, sticking close to Cloudheart.
Sunfur glanced at the marching cats.
"No, Gingerflower." He faced her again. "From the looks of it, I don't think so."
The ginger warrior turned to the line once more, only to see a horrible truth.
Rowanclaw leaped into a gap in the marching cats and found the beat of the march to move on.
"Father!" Gingerflower yelped and sprang after her father; Sunfur was stuck to his place, too confused to move.
Cloudheart caught Gingerflower just in time in her hind leg to stop the wailing she-cat.
"Let me go!" She screamed.
Too heartbroken, Sunfur glanced at his other sister, ShadowClaw. Even however stubborn as a RiverClanner she may be, she looked quite sad that part of her kin was gone and never to be found again.
Cloudheart released her daughter's tail after Gingerflower swiped her claw. She ran quickly to the Thunderpath, but realised it was too late: Their father was most likely a mile ahead of them.
Dry tears trying to make through the sweating fur, Sunfur's family walked back toward the Clan.
Sunfur was about to leave until he heard some grunts from the line; A brown she-cat had been pushed several times by the cats around her.
One final shove made her land straight on Sunfur.
After the two regained their breath, they still weren't off each other.
The brown she-cat kept on staring in Sunfur's eyes.
